By default, NAO:
orientates its head towards you.
is able to react to basic stimuli, such as sounds, movements, or tactile contacts.
is able to launch few Activities, those installed by default.
If you stay away, NAO does not talk and looks for people willing to talk and interact.
If you come closer, NAO says a few words and try to understand what you reply.
Only very basic words or questions is understood by NAO in this state, for example, you can try:
“What’s your name?” or “How old are you?”
Ability to reply to more complicated questions will come with additional applications that you may install through the Aldebaran Cloud.
Applications may content Solitary and/or Interactive Activities.
Depending on the settings of these Activities, you see them either autonomously launched at some point, or explicitly mentioned by NAO when you talk to him.
The more application you installed on NAO, the richer will be its living behavior.
